There was plenty that happened this month both in the world of audio and in the world of Sound Guys. Let’s go over everything happened in March of 2017, this is Sound Guys Monthly.

Sonos announces first new product since 2013: the Playbase

One of the bigger news stories this month comes from one of the bigger audio companies. Say hello to the Playbase, a new product from Sonos. This is their first product since 2013 so it’s kind of a big deal. The Playbase is a speaker for your living room, kind of like (if not exactly like) a soundbar. Except that this can support a TV that weighs 77 lbs maximum. It has 10 drivers built in and adds seamlessly to your existing Sonos setup, if you have one. This does cost about $699 though so be prepared to shell out if you want this in your living room.

Meet the UE Wonderboom

UE is arguably one of the most well known Bluetooth speaker manufacturers, and this month they released the UE Wonderboom. In a nutshell, it’s a small IPX7 waterproof speaker with a 10 hour battery and adorable sounds for only $99. We did an entire unboxing video on it so make sure to check that out and hit the little bell thingy down below so you’ll know when we have the full review up.

Marshall goes wireless with their newest headphones

Marshall might be more known for their classic guitar amps then their headphones, but they’ve slowly been changing that. Their newest headphones ditch wires for Bluetooth connectivity. They have aptX support, dual noise cancelling microphones for clear calls, but their most impressive feature is the 30 hour battery life. Of course, we can’t speak to their sound quality yet but if the company’s past products are anything to go by we’re sure they’ll sound pretty good.

Best of March

We got a chance to check out two brand new products from V-MODA in March, and though their REMIX Bluetooth speaker is cool the best product has to be the Crossfade 2 Wireless headphones. These have a decent battery life, strong bass, and insanely good connection strength. But what makes them really stand out is their great build quality. These now have the Cliqfold hinges so you can fold them down easily and aptX support on the rose gold model.

Bang for your buck

Our bang for your buck pick this month comes in the form of two products that go hand in hand. The new JLab House Party and Block Party speakers. These take on multi-room audio without Wi-Fi, instead relying on a pretty good Bluetooth connection so you can keep them synced up in different rooms. What makes them so great in my opinion is how loud they get. If you want to have a party, these will get the job done.

Best Wireless Headphones for TV

We always recommend one of our best lists for you guys to check, and this month we’re recommending the best wireless headphones for watching TV. If you don’t want the explosions of your action movie to disturb your significant other or sleeping children, check this list out. You’re sure to find something that will let you enjoy your movies in peace.
