TDK Life On Record goes rugged with the TREK Max wireless speaker
Portable Bluetooth speakers are great for taking your tunes with you anywhere you go, but it’s always a bummer when you have to shut down the party just because of a little rain. There are plenty of rugged speakers out there, but few of them look as sleek as the TDK Life On Record TREK Max.
The TREK Max weighs in at just 2.75 pounds, and is small enough to be easily portable at just 9.5 inches wide, 3.8 inches high, and 2 inches thick. While it supports the usual Bluetooth protocols for audio — A2DP, HFP and HSP — it’s also got an IP64 rating, meaning it’s resistant to splashing water and dust. The speaker charges via USB and lasts up to 8 hours on one charge; more than enough for a day in the park.
Though it may be small, the TREK Max doesn’t seem like it will be a slouch when it comes to audio. It features two full-range drivers in the front as well as a subwoofer, so it should sound much bigger than it actually is. The speaker went on sale on June 4th for a MSRP of $199.95.
We’ll be reviewing the TDK Life On Record TREK Max very soon, so we’ll see how well it holds up, but from everything we’ve seen so far. It looks very promising.
