If you’ve been looking to save a buck or two and wait for the third annual Amazon Prime Day to snag some audio equipment, you’re… not really in luck. Truth be told, there’s a lot of junk out there, or at least junk deals.
However, I stayed up to scour the list of upcoming deals, and I’ve selected a few that stood out to me. Many of these require the Amazon store card, but the payoff is there if you’re willing to use it. After all, having some money to grab an amp or huge pile of music ain’t half bad.
If you have an Amazon store card, you can nab the Shure SRH1840 open back headphones for $499.99 and get almost $100 back in Amazon credit. These are rock solid headphones made by an audio legend.
One of our persisting favorites, the Jaybird X3 In-ear Wireless is also on sale for $99.99 plus 20% back in Amazon credit if you use your store card. These are already one of the best bang-for-your-buck items out there, and getting credit back is just gravy.
Keeping in our trend of “great headphones plus Amazon credit,” the Bang & Olufsen Beoplay over-ears are $50 off at $249.99, with another $49.80 in Amazon credit back if—yet again—you buy with the store card. This is a fashionable and great-sounding bluetooth set of headphones, so definitely check it out.
Unicorn headphones they are not, but the Bragi Dash go on sale at 5:00am EST. While some may balk at not having a wire, truly wireless earbuds are on the rise, and this is the set that really made that idea popular.
Ever see those coll-looking matte headphones in about a hundred colors on the street? Those are the Urbanears Plattan 2 cans. They go on sale at 8:00 in the morning (EST), and are sure to go quick (they’re extremely popular).
Pickings here are scant, but two products stand out here.
First up is the Logitech Z906 5.1 Surround Sound Speaker System. While it’s not the best system on the market, it’s Logitech’s top-of-the-line computer speaker system. Boasting a 5.1 channel setup, this unit supports Dolby surround sound to take your movie-watching—or gaming—to a new level.
One of the best-rated soundbars on Amazon, the Samsung HW-M450/ZA is a 2.1 channel soundbar with respectably good sound for the price point. It even offers HDMI and Bluetooth connectivity. While it’s currently listed at a hair under $200, look for that price to drop tomorrow.
By far and away the best Bluetooth speaker deal of Prime day is the Ultimate Ears BOOM 2 Meteor Wireless. We love its little brother, the Wonderboom, but this IPX7-rated crowd favorite can pair up to 150 speakers, support the three main voice assistants (Siri, Google, Alexa), and output about 90dB of sound. Definitely worth a look if you want a speaker that can go on adventures with you.
Adam Molina somewhat panned the Bang & Olufsen Beoplay A1, but who knows? Maybe a Prime day discount is enough to entice. It looks sleek, but the battery life hovers at around 4 hours—which could be a dealbreaker for many.
Anyways, that’s all I’ve got for now. Did I miss anything? Sound off in the comments below!
