K3 is a company that specializes in portable electronics for people who live an active lifestyle, or for people who are a little less than careful with their devices. Along with a number of other outdoor products, they already have three other Bluetooth speakers that are IPX3, IPX4, and IPX5 certified. They recently announced their newest Bluetooth speaker dubbed the K3 Buoy that will be IPX7 certified, meaning it is completely waterproof. It can be submerged in up to 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes and come out the victor. Though due to it’s ability to float, it probably won’t stay submerged for too long anyway.

It comes with a built-in microphone to answer phone calls and an 850 mAh battery that will last 8 to 10 hours of continuous playback. The K3 Buoy will also have a suction cup at the bottom so that it can be mounted on kayaks, surfboards, or boats. Assuming you’re not looking for state of the art sound, this seems like a solid option for a portable speaker to throw in your backpack when you go adventuring. If you’re not the outdoorsy type you can always stick it to the wall of your shower and listen to your favorite tunes.

It will be available on March 25th in the US and Canada for USD $49.99. Everyone else who wants to pick one up will have to purchase it directly though the website.
