Apple delays the BeatsX headphones until February

Playing the waiting game

Apple has been known to make some fairly radical (but in the end successful) design decisions when it comes to ports on their products, but the removal of the headphone jack on the iPhone 7 still has some people scratching their heads. Their vision of a wireless future was punctuated with three new pairs of wireless Beats headphones and the new Apple Airpods. The Beats Powerbeats3 and Solo3 Wireless were released in a timely manner and after weeks of delays, the Airpods are finally on sale as well. That said, it looks like anyone waiting for the BeatsX headphones will have to wait a little while longer.

It looks like Apple has decided to push the BeatsX headphones back to February. Missing the holiday season altogether. If you were looking forward to grabbing a pair of these you may have to pick another pair of wireless headphones instead. Unless you don’t mind waiting a few more months.

Like the Solo3 and Powerbeats3 headphones before them, the BeatsX headphones come with the new W1 chip that helps squeeze the most out of the Class 1 Bluetooth chips in them. The BeatsX have a neck collar design with the earbuds attached to them via short wires. They come with an 8 hour battery life and a Flex-Form cable that will help them fit better. They also have a Fast Fuel technology that provides you with about 2 hours of listening time for only 5 minutes on the charge. Useful if you’re ever in a rush and need to leave the house quickly.

They come in black and white and will cost $149, but you shouldn’t plan on stuffing and stockings with these.
